Fermented Pineapple Drink


Tepache is a slightly fermented carbonated drink made from pineapple skins. 


Give your pineapple a good rinse! Cut the skin off & place inside a jar. Add sugar & water. loosely screw on a lid, & set the jar on the counter to ferment.


optional: add a cinnamon stick inside the jar


Once you see a white bubbly foam forming at the top, the fermentation process has began.


Taste every couple of days & once it has a slightly fizzy, sweet, & tangy - strain the tepache, discarding the fruit.


Refrigerate & drink soon, as it can continue to ferment in the fridge.


*in case it does ferment too long it can then be used a cleaning vinegar solution.
